Spygate
Joe Biden was an important figure in the evolving Spygate scandal. This involves many Obama administration officials and their improper targeting and spying on the Trump campaign and Trump officials or associates.
General Michael Flynn was Donald Trump’s National Security Advisor and was improperly targeted by the Obama administration, and an internal FBI note shows that they set out with an objective of getting him to lie so that they could prosecute him or get him fired.
General Flynn was later charged, but the Department of Justice has dropped the case against him because of the overwhelming evidence that he was “set up” in an effort to damage him and the Trump administration.
Due to the fallout, Biden was asked about his role in the improper investigation. Biden stated, “I know NOTHING about those moves to investigate Michael Flynn.”
However, Joe Biden was in attendance of a White House meeting with various cabinet members and leaders of intelligence agencies in the final days of the Obama administration. During this meeting the investigative strategy of Michael Flynn was raised.
When asked about what he knew in the meeting Biden said he was “aware that there was – that they asked for an investigation, but that’s all I know about it and I don’t think anything else.”
Joe Biden’s multiple testaments that he was not involved in the Flynn investigation now are directly contradicted by notes taken by FBI agent Peter Strozk. The notes lay out the following information:
FBI Director James Comey personally believed that General Flynn’s actions were legitimate.
President Obama ordered to have the FBI investigate General Flynn anyway.
Joe Biden was in fact actively involved in the investigation. He had even suggested goals which he thought they could try and prosecute General Flynn with.
Spygate has become a very troubling issue for previous members of the Obama administration. Joe Biden actively tried to lie and conceal his involvement in this scandal, but it is now clear that he was not a bystander with no knowledge, but in fact he was a key orchestrator of the entire plot.
